Telah dilakukan pengujian aktivitas antioksidan senyawa proantosianidin dari akar pakis tangkur (Polypodium feei METT) dan interaksinya dengan ƒÑ-tokoferol secara in vitro. Pengujian dilakukan terhadap malondialdehida, sebagai hasil peroksidasi lipid plasma pria sehat berusia antara 20-39 tahun secara spektrometri pada panjang gelombang 532 nm. Dari hasil penelitian ini, senyawa proantosianidin pada dosis 2,78 ƒÝg/50 ƒÝl dan 3,7 ƒÝg/50 ƒÝl memberikan aktivitas antioksidan yang berarti. Proantosianidin 3,7 ƒÝg/50 ƒÝl memberikan aktivitas yang lebih kuat dibandingkan ƒÑ-tokoferol.

An investigation on antioxidant activity of proanthocyanidin isolated from the roots of Polypodium feet METT and its interaction with £\ ¡V tocopherol has been carried out. The antioxidant activity was determined by measurement of malondialdehyde resulted from lipid peroxidation of blood plasma of healthy menages from 20 to 39 years old by means of spectrophotometer at a wave length of 532 run. The result of this investigation showed that proanthocyanidin at doses of 2,78 and 3,70 ƒÝg/50 ƒÝl gave antioxidant activity significantly. The antioxidant activity of proenthocyanidin at a dose of 3,70 ƒÝg/50 ƒÝl was stronger than that of £\¡Vtocopherol at a dose of 7,4 ƒÝg/50 ƒÝl. A combination of proanthocyanidin at a dose of 3.70 ƒÝg/50 ƒÝl gave stronger antioxidant activity as compared to that of proanthocyanidin and £\ ¡V tocopherol individually. This evidence indicated that proanthocyanidin and £\- tocopherol gave synergistic activity.
