FACTORS IMPACTING LABOR FORCE PARTICIPATION OF MARRIED WOMEN IN INDONESIA

The number of women’s participation in the workforce still considered as small compared to men’s. Moreover, the role of married women is identical with housewife’ duties and taking care of husbands and children. This research observes the factors that influence the participation of women in the workforce by using the 5th wave of the Indonesian Family Living Survey in 2014. Processed using the Logistic Regression Model, the results results find that higher education levels of married women, age, household decisions by both wife and husband will significantly increase labor force participation, while higher levels of husband education, number of children under five, islam religion, living in urban area will decrease the labor force participation of married women.
