Abstrak

Uji Aktivitas Hasil Penyarian Biji Mahkota Dewa (Phaleria Macrocarpa [Scheff.] Terhadap Beberapa Mikroba Penyebab Infeksi Kulit

Telah dilakukan uji aktivitas ekstrak biji Mahkota Dewa (Phaleria macrocapa [Scheff.] Boerl.) terhadap beberapa mikroba penyebab infeksi kulit dengan menggunakan metode difusi agar. Ekstrak air dan ekstrak etanol biji Mahkota Dewa mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa, sedangkan sebagai antijamur terhadap Candida albicans tidak menunjukkan aktivitas (tidak berefek). Hasil penentuan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum dan pengamatan besarnta diameter hambatan menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak air lebih kuat aktivitasnya daripada ekstrak etanol. Aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak biuji Mahkota Dewa pada konsentrasi terbesar (30%) masih dibawah antibiotika (0,1%)

The extract of “biji Mahkota Dewa” (Phaleria macrocapa [Scheff.] Boerl.) activity to any microbes as the cause of skin infection has been studied using agar diffusion method. The ethanol and water extract showed antibacterial activity for Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, but was inactive as the antifungal for Candida albicans. The result of the determination of the Minimum Inhibition Concentration and of the inhibition activity showed t6he water extract activity was stronger than ethanol extract. The antibacterial activity of “biji Mahkota Dewa” extract at the maximum concentration (30%) was still below the antibiotic potency (0,1%).
