Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak biji teh terhadap reproduksi dan fertilitas P. canaliculata serta toksisitasnya terhadap organisme bukan sasaran (C. carpio). Percobaan dilaksanakan di Rumah Kasa, BALAI penelitian Tanaman Padi, Subang di Laboratorium Toksikologi Lingkungan, Jurusan Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran. Ekstrak biji teh bersifat toksik terhadap P. canaliculata. Nilai LC50-24 jam setelah aplikasi (JSA) sebesar 38,60 ppm pada P. canaliculata jantan dan 48,32 ppm pada P. canaliculata betina. Ekstrak biji teh menekan reproduksi dan fertilitas telur yang dihasilkan.Hasil percobaan terhadap C. carpio menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak biji teh memiliki tingkat toksisitas yang tinggi. Nilai LC50-24 JSA pada C. carpio sebesar 8,61 ppm. Ekstrak biji teh lebih toksik 4,5 dan 5,6 kali terhadap C. carpio.dibandingkan terhadap P. canaliculata jantan dan betina.

The research was conducted to study effect of tea seed Camelia sinensis extract on reproduction and fertility of P. canaliculata as well as its toxicity on non target organism, Cyprinus carpio. The experiment was carried out in the green house of research Balai Penelitian Tanaman Padi Sukamandi Subang, and Environmental Toxicology Laboratory, Departement of Pest and Plant Disease, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran. The result showed that the tea seed extract was toxic on male and female of P. canaliculata with LC50 at 24 hours after aplication were 38.60 ppm and 48.32 ppm, respectively. Tea seed extract suppressed reproduction and egg fertility of P. canaliculata. The toxicity of tea seed extract on male and female of P. canaliculata showed 4.5 and 5.6 times more toxic on C. carpio.
