Interjections As Pragmatic Markers In Context

Tesis ini diberi judul “Interjections as Pragmatic Markers in Context”. Bidang kajian yang dipilh untuk menyelesaikan masalah dalam tesis ini adalah kajian pragmatik. Tesis ini dibuat untuk mengetahui fungsi interjeksi sebagai penanda pragmatik, untuk mengetahui apa yang ditunjukkan oleh interjeksiinterjeksi yang berfungsi sebagai penanda pragmatik dan untuk mengetahui jumlah fungsi yang mungkin dimiliki oleh interjeksi-interjeksi berfungsi sebagai pragmatik marker. Data-data yang diambil untuk penelitian ini adalah lima interjeksi yang berbeda yang diambil dari lima novel yang berbeda pula. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dan peneliti memilih teknik penelitian analisis dokumen untuk menganalisis data. Peneliti mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis setiap data sesuai dengan teori yang dikemukakan oleh Quirk et al (1985), Norrick (2008), Aijmer in Slembrouk et.al. (2009), Brinton (1996) dan Fraser (2008). Hasil-hasil dari penelitian ini adalah berkenaan dengan fungsi interjeksi yang berfungsi sebagai penanda pragmatik fungis-fungsinya meliputi penanda ujaran, dan penanda perhatian dan penanda ujaran. Interjeksi-interjeksi yang berfungsi sebagai penanda pragmatik dapat berupa tindakan, perasaan atau bahkan berupa keduanya dan kesimpulan yang terakhir adalah interjeksi-interjeksi tersebut mempunyai lebih dari satu fungsi.

This thesis is entitled as “Interjections as Pragmatic Markers in Context”. The chosen study field to solve all problems in this thesis is Pragmatics. This thesis is made to find out the functions of the interjections functioned as pragmatic markers, to find out what the interjections functioned as pragmatic markers indicate to and to find out how many functions the interjections functioned as pragmatic markers possibly have. The data which are taken for this research are five different interjections which are taken from five different novels as well. The used method to analyze the data is descriptive qualitative method and the writer chooses document analysis research technique to analyze the data. The writer describes and analyzes each data according to the theories proposed by Quirk et al (1985), Norrick (2008), Aijmer in Slembrouk et.al. (2009), Brinton (1996) and Fraser (2008). The results of this research are concerning to the functions of the interjections which functioned as pragmatic markers the functions encompass utterance initials, and attention marker and utterance initial. Interjections which are functioned as pragmatic markers take form as attitude, feelings or even both and the last it is possible for interjections to have more than one function.
