Backgrounds: Osteoporosis is the systemic disease. Osteoporosis can be detected by BMD examination and same laboratories exam. Panoramic radiography is able to assess abnormalities including the assess bone quality. Patient with osteoporotic bone can be seen from the panoramic radiographs to assess bone quality. The aim of this study was to assess mandible cortical highness and trabecular assessment correlation with CTx and Osteocalcin level.
Materials and methods:
This study using 18 radiographs, 14 were positive for osteoporosis and osteopenia and 4 normal. The data collected was analyzed for the regression equation with a linear regression and correlation analysis.
Result: The results of this study found a positive correlation between the CTx and Osteocalcin levels with mandible cortical highness, but negative correlation with score trabecular dan marrow assessment. Conclusion:
Panoramic radiography can use to detect the osteoporosis especially to see the high of the mandible cortical bone.
