Saat menjalani kehidupan, hal yang memengaruhi berkurangnya kebahagiaan seseorang adalah ketidakutuhan keluarga, atau situasi broken home. Situasi broken home tidak mudah diterima oleh anak, sehingga berpengaruh pada tingkat subjective well being. Seperti lebih banyak diliputi perasaan sedih, dan ketidakpuasan terhadap hubungan yang terjalin antara anak dengan orangtua. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) dalam meningkatkan subjective well being pada individu dewasa awal dengan latar belakang broken home. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah dengan mixed method, dengan concurrent embedded strategy. Desain eksperimen yang digunakan adalah one group pretest-posttest design, yaitu melihat perbedaan sebelum dan sesudah suatu variabel diberi perlakuan. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 4 orang, karena sesuai dengan karakteristik menjadi sampel penelitian, yaitu memiliki subjective well being dan fleksibilitas psikologis sedang. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah skala asli PERMA yang diterjemahkan dalam Bahasa Indonesia, dan Acceptance and Action Questionnaire II (AAQ II). Intervensi ACT diberikan selama lima sesi. Berdasarkan hasil kualitatif juga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan subjective well being dan fleksibilitas psikologis pada semua partisipan. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik Wilcoxon mengenai skala PERMA, diperoleh nilai 0,068 dan dengan nilai ? = 0,1, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam meningkatnya subjective well being setelah diberikan intervensi acceptance and commitment therapy.. Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil uji statitistik Wilcoxon mengenai skala AAQ II, diperoleh nilai 0,268 dengan nilai ? = 0,1, dapat dikatakan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan signifikan dalam meningkatnya fleksibilitas psikologis pada semua partisipan setelah diberikan intervensi. Faktor keberhasilan intervensi ACT yang diberikan adalah adanya motivasi, kemampuan memahami metafora, serta kesadaran diri untuk melakukan perubahan.
In an individual’s lifetime, the one thing that can decrease someone’s happiness is a broken home. The situation of broken home is hard to be accepted by the child, which had an impact on their level of subjective well being. For example, the child can be more feeling sadness, and there is dissatisfaction with the relationship between the child and the parents. The aim of this research is to apply acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to increase the level of subjective well being on an early adulthood aged individuals with a broken home. The method used in this research is mixed method with a concurrent embedded strategy. The experimental design that was used is the one group pretest-posttest design, with the purpose to see the differences inbetween before and after the intervention was applied. The sample of this research was 4 individuals, according to the characteristic of being sample of this research, that is had moderate level of subjective well being and psychological flexibility. The measuring instrument that was used is PERMA scale and Acceptance and Action Questionnaire II (AAQ II), both of which was already translated to Bahasa Indonesia. The ACT intervention was given in five session. The result of qualitative data also showed that there is an increase in the level of subjective well being and psychological flexibility in all of the participatns. From statistical analysis of PERMA scale, which was Wilcoxon, the score is 0,068 and degree of ? = 0.1, Research hypothesis accepted, indicating that there is an increase in the level of subjective well being in all of the participants after given the intervention. Meanwhile, from statistical analysis of AAQ II, which was Wilcoxon ini, the score is 0,268 and degree of ? = 0.1, indicating that there is not increase in the level of psychological flexibility in all of the participants after given the intervention. The decisive success factor of this intervention is participant’s motivation, the ability to understand metaphors, and personal self awareness to change.
