The development of popular novels so rapidly since the 1970s until the present with a variety of themes and forms that realize that it takes a more intense study of academic to popular novels.
This study aims to obtain a picture of Indonesian nationalism in the three teenage popular novel that is Ali Topan Anak Jalanan by Teguh Esha, Lupus: Makhluk Manis dalam Bis by Hilman Hariwijaya, dan Balada Si Roy by GolaGong. The base is that all three novels are recognized to have high levels ofpopularity with each era that the main characters at once iconic representation of the time Indonesian teen respectively. The questions thatguide the writing are 1) How Indonesianness described in the third novel? 2) How does nationalism represented a third of teens in these novels.
From the study results is obtained the conclusion that nationalism is displayed on the third novel has a level different. Ali Topan has a nationaloutlook which is thicker than the lupus and Balada Si Roy. On another level, Balada Si Roy more socially conscious – to the Indonesian people -comparedwith Lupus.
