The geomorphology in southern pan of Cianjur-Garut areas is mountainous with gentle to steep slopes. A part of landforms with many tributary rivers has narrow valley and rapids. The potency of water resources in these areas is abundance. It is a great advantage as a source of micro hydro electric power. The problem of this research is how far is the role of geomorphologic characters as tectonic product toward the development of potency for micro hydro electric power. This Research was designed based on the paradigm that the past geological event will develop a certain typical landfonn in present. In the study area, it was shown that the geomorphologic units were controlled by tectonic activities. Various parameters of drainage basin morphotcctonic could become indicator for micro hydro power potency. The drainage basin controlled by tectonic has usually a narrow shape. The major river and its tributaries showed trellis pattern. which consisted of the I °and 2′ order of the rivers. They generated high discharge and head. Probabilistic approach was used in data analysis, and showed that geomorphologic character between Cipandak and Cikaingan drainage basins had significant difference statistically. This difference means that the potency for micro hydro electric power was different for both of those drainage basins.
