This study was aimed to determine the effectiveness of positive self-talk to the increase of BSE of breastfeeding mothers . The design of this research is a case study involving two subjects of research obtained through purposive sampling technique. The data was obtained by using interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The questionnaire used is the Breastfeeding Self – Efficacy Scale (BSES) of Cindy Lee Dennis (2003), which is an adaptation of the theory of Bandura’s self-efficacy, BSES have been translated to Bahasa Indonesia by the researcher. The series of intervention Positive Self – Talk is done in three major stages. Measurements were conducted 3 three times, ie before and after the intervention, and one week after the intervention was completed. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods of quantitative and qualitative methods of content analysis and descriptive analysis. The results showed that interventions of Positive Self-Talk effective for improving Breastfeeding Self – Efficacy (BSE) in both subjects were characterized by increased categories of BSES after a given intervention of Positive Self-Talk. Qualitatively, R showed some changes in the cognition, emotional, behavioral and physical domain. While D had physical and emotional domain change after given intervention Positive Self-Talk.
