Asthma patients have cognitive and emotional representation about their asthma. The cognitive and emotional representation form illness perception. Leventhal stated that, illness perception is the patients’ beliefs and expectations about an illness or somatic symptom (Sutton et.al., 2004). Routine exercise is one form of prevention against asthma. Tendency to perform routine exercise is described in the theory of planned behavior from Icek Ajzen (2005). Illness perception is need to predict the tendency of college students to perform routine exercise. This study is correlational study using questionnaires adapted from the Leventhal’s theory of illness perception and Icek Ajzen’s theory of planned behavior. Data was collected from 35 college students in Bandung using convenience sampling. The result show the illness perception factor of college student with asthma in Bandung that most determines the tendency to routine exercise is personal control. Further research should be considered.
