Abstrak

Gambaran Karateristik Akseptor KB Tentang Pengetahuan Alat Kontrasepsi dalam Rahim Di RB. Harapan Kita Kota Bandung Tahun 2009

Intra Uterine Divice (IUD) is one of contraceptive device that are practical, economical, and effective way to prevent pregnancy in the long term. Data shows the number of IUD acceptors is much lower than the acceptor injection, similarly, in RB. Harapan Kita Bandung. This study is descriptive, aiming to find out the characteristics of acceptors about IUD. The samples taking by systematic sampling. The data used were primary data with distributed questionnaires to respondents, then it was processed manually and made into percentage, as well as presented in the table. The research result shows that the acceptors knowledge about the IUD generally in the category of poor and very poor. Based on maternal age. there were 39% of respondents of 20-35 years age have a poor knowledge and 43% had very poor knowledge about IUD. Based on education, 51.6% of elementary school-educated respondents have poor knowledge and 37.2% very poor. Moreover, 39.5% of Junior High School-educated respondents have poor knowledge about the IUD and 37.2% in the category very poor. Under parity, the respondents who have 3 children, 50% of them have poor knowledge about the IUD and 31.3% had a terrible knowledge. To correct the bad image of the IUD, it need a corrective services from midwives in RB. Harapan Kita through explicit counseling, especially for clients who have complications / contraindications to hormonal contraception to reduce the risk of frequent or close pregnancies.
