It had been counducted about the analysis of diameter selection of looping pipe. The analysis was conducted in pipeline of Porong – Sidoarjo gas transmission (East Java Gas Pipeline). The diameter selection of looping pipe was conducted because there was pipe segment which exploded on that line. The solution of this pipe explosion problem was the additional pipe installation (relocation) from primary line to distribution line. This research aims to obtain the optimum looping pipe diameter in order to that line relocation become safe and efficient. This diameter selection of looping pipe included equivalent pipe length calculation, pressure drop and gas flow velocity. In this calculation was assumed that gas flow one fasa, compressible, steady state, and isothermal. The analysis result shows that the exact piping configuration is the series pipe system with optimum diameter if the diameter pipe 28 inch is connected with the diameter pipe of 16 inch, 18 inch, 24 inch or 28 inch.
