Trakeostomi pada Trauma Maksilofasial Dewasa

The management of airway in adult patient with maxillofacial trauma has always been a nightmare for both anesthetist and oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Adult patient with trauma of the face and neck or head injury may require tracheostomy because of airway obstruction secondary to trauma or because these patient cannot protect their own airways against aspiration. Appropriate management of tracheostomy that requires a skilled approach and safe techniques of assessing patients for decannulation is an important task for surgeon. The Complication of tracheostomy is numerous and some can be fatal. Special attention must be paid to prevent identify and adage the complication.
