Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. Deaths from cancer worldwide are projected to continue rising, with an estimated 12 million deaths in 2030. Cancer is not a single disease but a group of related diseases. Previous studies suggested that some herbal medicines might contribute to prevent cancer. As a tropical country straddling the equator, Indonesia is one of rich countries in the world that has rich biodiversity. It includes traditional medicinal plants that are widely utilized in Indonesia for medication purpose. In his paper, there are seven medicinal plants, which have been known to be able to against cancer and have potency as anticancer agent in various mechanisms.
