BSC, Islamic MFIs, Social Perspective
The measurement of MFI’s performance is important for both stakeholders and stockholders. In order to understand the management styles and performances of different MFIs, this paper assesses their performance by using the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) from four perspectives. The BSC provides the “balanced” and “integrative” financial and non financial perspectives of a MFI such as internal business processes, growth and learning, financial and customer perspectives which are extremely important to create sustainable operations. This research also proposed The BSC based Islamic MFIs’ Model’ which has five perspectives with adding a Social Perspective. The necessity of qard hassan from the MFI’s clients point of view and from the MFI’s institutions point of view was also presented as a Social Perspective for supporting and adding value of Islamic MFIs.
