Abstrak

Survei Pengetahuan, Sikap, Dan Praktek Masyarakat Di Jawa Barat Terhadap Kesehatan Mata, Tahun 2005

Purpose: to obtain the KAP ofthe 40 years up group of the people in West Java to the eye health and cataract blind Methods: The study done integrated with West Java Survey on Blindness and Eye Morbidity 1600 people from the eye survey respondents have been collected randomly and interview as well as doing focus group discussion to get the data. Results: People knowledge of the cataract showed that one thind of the people knew the cataract causes blindness; 52.4% knew that good nutrition and protection to the sun exposure could prevent cataract. 78.4% respondents knew that surgery is the solution to avoid blindness and most ofthe respondentsknewthat cataract sign are the blur vision (68.5%) and white e (34.2%). Conclussion: Most ofthe respondents had notgood attitude to the eye health due to the IE of knowledge. No significant relation between knowledge to the cataract and attitude. But the is significant relation between attitude and practice off the respondents to get the first aid and the prevention fortheir eye health.
