The Interpretation of Oral and Written Traditions on Kampung Naga’s Society, West Java

Kampung Naga’s Society, West Java (Pemaknaan Tradisi Lisan dan Tulisan
pada Masyarakat Kampung Naga).

Development of technology, especially communication technology ought
to change the habits and cultures of human to interaction each other.
But, this conditions is not be in effect to a community in West Java which
still hold tight the customs & traditions of forefather inheritance
and be alive in uncomplicated order with addicted traditional culture. The
community is the people of Kampung Naga.

The purposes of the research are to understand and to get the clarity of the
process of giving moral, ethical, and religious messages among the people of
Kampung Naga.

The research was done using qualitative method. The informants were chosen
with purposive random sampling techniques. The main problems are the
interpretations of oral and written traditions of passing pieces of advice on moral,
religion, and belief always communicated at religious and ‘hajat sasih’ ritual
ceremonies. The conclusion is that this communication model is very effective for
keeping the social conduct in the daily life of the people of Kampung Naga.
