The gold-silver mineralization at the Kitami metallogenic province, located at the northeastern portion of Hokkaido, Japan (Figure 1) is of Neogene Tertiary age. The gold-silver deposits in this district used to be one of the valuable mining districts in Japan. Epithermal ore deposits of the gold-silver mines in this district present similarities in mineral composition, vein features, and also their host rocks. The geological environment, igneous activities, and mineralization characteristics have been investigated by previous authors (Ishihara et al., 2000; Ishihara, 1998; Maeda, 1998a, 1998b; Maeda, 1990; Watanabe, 1996; Sugaki & Isobe, 1985; Kondoh et al., 1967; Yukitoshi, 1961; Urashima, 1953 etc.). However, detailed study of the ore mineralogy of the epithermal deposits in the district have yet to be published.
