Research on the preparation of microcrystalline cellulose from sugarcane residue (baggase) was carried out using discarded residues from a sugar factoty in West Java. To see the quality of the crystalline part of MCC resulted, X-ray diffraction method was used. Good quality of crystallinity would improve the compressibility which is expected from an excipient in pharmaceutical tabletting. It was found that Direct Compression Vehicle from Baggase (DICEB) ie. MCC product resulted from this experiment has a good crystallinity.
